momMa, MaDrE, moMmY, MotHer…PIES, reservations & unconditional LOVE!

“there is no perfect way to be a GOOD mother.   Each situation is unique.  Each mother has different challenges, different skills & abilities…and, CERTAINLY different children!  What matters most is a mother’s LOVE runs deep for her CHILDREN.”  m. rusell ballard

unconditional love is what i learned from my mom.  about how important forgiveness is.  to love with compassion.  that relationships are so important.   i’m fortunate enough to still have a relationship with my mom.  before i got married and had kids we saw each other often.  did almost everything together.  life gets in the way but we still talk, still have that unconditional love, compassion & forgivness for each other.  we do spend time together.  talk every week.  still call my mom, my best friend but she has now taken on the duty of gommy and is showing her 7 grandchildren the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness.   i look forward to many more years of a beautiful relationship.

mom and tara up close

thanks, deb taylor for the wonderful pic!

now, all that being said…it’s so much easier to be compassionate & forgiving when you have your own children.   they bring joy in the tough times & when they are tough on momma i get to work on being compassionate.  i smile thinking about their future.  i laugh when i think of the things they say.  i look forward to snuggling every nite.  i see the compassion brayden already has.  he is the sweetest big brother (most of the time).  bentley is pure sunshine.  happy and content (most of the time).    the desires of my heart are to continue having an unconditional relationship with my precious boys ’til they grow old.

relationships and love is a part of each of us at the cafe and pie haven.  a lot of our family, friends, employees and patrons have built such a close relationship with me and those around me.  we see alot of people that come to our establishments not only for the food but the relationships…we like to think of it as a haven, a loving place, a place to make memories and build those relationships.  so with MoMMa’s DaY coming up, what a better place to come and spend lunch with your special mommy in your life.  we are open at the cafe from noon to 4 pm on Sunday, May 12 with reservations at noon, 1:20 and 2:45, call us at the cafe 979/249-3611 to secure your reservation with a credit card (24 hour cancellation and/or change).  if ya just wanna just stop by for some PIE…royers pie haven will be open from 11 am to 4 pm.  stop in and see us on this special madre day and hug the neck of your loved one.  for all of those who are afar and can’t make it to round top, send some momma love with pies!  we are taking mother’s day orders for mail order pies and gifts through Wednesday at 4 pm (might have to upgrade your shipping if you wait to the last minute, so hurry and place your order now!  realize that unconditional love, forgiveness and relationships is what we built the cafe and haven on and we continue to base our home and biz life on and hope that it will touch you just as it has us here at ROYERS ROUND TOP CAFE AND ROYERS PIE HAVEN!

Wow, Tara, what an awesome present! I just got home from a tough work week to read your beautiful blog! Thank you so much. I am so blessed by your love, forgiveness, determination and we all know I fall short of these values all the time! Getting to watch you be a mom to your two boys is pure joy…along with watching the life you share with Rick. I pray God gives us many more years together as mother and daughter. Printing this out to read when the going gets tough! I am a blessed mother.Love, Mom

PS I am also blessed with three wonderful sons, their incredible wives, Rick, of course, seven amazing grandchildren and Bevo, the dog.

I enjoyed your blog. I have loved your mom and dad, and you when you came along (I remember that day) ever since we met way back even before they married. Lots of living through the years. I pray for y’all every day.

This blog makes me proud to be a Royer. Some things must run in the “family.” My Mom is a Great pie-maker, and some of my fondest memories are of helping in the kitchen, placing strips of pastry on top of one of her peach, apple or blackberry pies, and canning jams and jellies. Licking the spoons was the best part.

ABSOLUTELY love the photo of you and your Mom, my dear friends!

It has been a joy, having known you as a young lady to see you grow into this incredible Mom, wife and business woman. I never had any doubts!

Being a Mom and Grammy has been the greatest joy and achievement of my life………I’m still working on it!

Hope one of these days our paths cross again – both you, your MOM and your family.

    Love ya

Tara, it has been a joy to have known you since you were a baby. But what a special joy to have followed you and your wonderful family all these years, and now to see you married to Rick, with children of your own. Life is good. God is good!

Loved reading your blog. Happy Mothers Day to you and your mom, and to all the moms in your family. On my next trip to Round Top, I’ll make a point to see you. Missed you last time we were there, but I’m happy to report that your Pie Haven was buzzing with enthusiastic customers! I am so proud of you!

Love and hugs from Houston to Round Top.
