bringing friends together, peanut butter pie

life is busy & last nite we stopped and enjoyed friends.  the kids played ’til they passed out, literally.

we laughed ’til we cried, ate pizza, sipped wine & enjoyed the last moments of summer.

and, this gave me an excuse to make a pie.  of course, any recipe we try might end up on the menu.  we have to think of the time it takes to make the recipe, do we already have everything needed for this one recipe, is it simple & does it taste OMG!

one thing i learned from my dad, is taste.  tasting the food on the back of your tongue.  depth, he called it.  we still joke, “it doesn’t have enough depth!”

we haven’t ever put cream pies on the menu because of storage, but we might have to figure this one out.  soooo creamy.

GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST.

straight off the box.

2 1/2 cups of crusted graham crackers

1/2 cup of sugar

10 tbsps melted butter

mix ingredients together, press into 10″ pie pan, bake on 350 for 10 mins. set aside.

PEANUT BUTTER FILLING

1 cup of creamy peanut butter

1 cup of sifted powdered sugar

4 oz of cream cheese

1 small tub of cool whip

combine ingredients & whip in the mixer.  once all nice in creamy you are ready to pour in the pan.

BUT FIRST!! YOU HAVE TO POUR 1/2 IN. LAYER OF NUTELLA IN YOUR COOLED CRUST!! then add the peanut butter filling & drizzle with caramel sauce (i just used a pre-made sauce.  you can get fancy if ‘ya want).

put the pie in the freezer for about an hour.  slice & devour.

bless,

tara, the pie queen
