December 10th, 2011 is a day that God sent 2 amazing souls to walk thru life with.

i’m amazed & blessed daily by the people that walk thru that cafe door.  life is just plain tough and God puts people in our lives to be a shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with or mentor us.  december 10th, 2011 he sent tomi bussey cheeks of www.gypsyheartphotograhy.com and elizabeth tooley, BEST durn event planner.  it was the junk gypsy prom that nite and they had a long checklist.  we were on that checklist.  they strolled in the cafe for lunch & ate at the counter…they had their hair all done up like true TEXAS women…did i mention they were from the DALLAS area?  well, they just looked like so much fun i started snapping their pics…yep, stalker.  little did i know that God was doin’ his thing…these girls are a true blessing to me now.

what wouldn’t make ‘ya want to just get to know these gals??  don’t they just look like a bundle of fun??  elizabeth calls her self, louise & tomi is thelma.   AND, look who i ran into at prom!!

well, after a fab time at the junk gypsy prom they needed to come get a bit more of that ROYER love & our Sunday FRIED CHICKEN!!

then, eat PIE at the PIE HAVEN

they even had a checklist…

yes, they were everywhere…especially in my HEART.   these girls inspire me daily whether it’s thru a text or opening up their homes to a stranger.  they are true mentors.  they live life to the fullest and i get to play along.  since december we have seen each other often and talked daily.   yep, we had to be together when our fav gals were on the TODAY SHOW!!  can i get a, “HECK, YES!!”

and, i’m pretty sure BRAYDEN and STERLING will have an arranged marriage…they are so precious together!!

i feel that i have known these girls since birth.  don’t we look like sisters???

it hasn’t even been a year and we have many amazing stories to tell already but one of my most favorite stories was this past easter.  we just finished working the spring antique show and everyone came to our house for dinner.  elizabeth’s and tomi’s whole family were at our house & they were about to head home.  we hugged and couldn’t let go and just broke down in tears.  elizabeth looked at her husband and said, “figure out how to get us here fast.”  we had no idea that this was GOD’S big plan.  ELIZABETH has even moved right down the road from us.  she is helping us at the cafe now & we love it!!  TOMI doesn’t know it but i’m headed her way in a few weeks…hoping she sees this and jumps for JOY!  thank you JESUS for these precious souls.

love,

tara the pie queen

Well Tara, even though Elizabeth’s move has been a Yahoo experience for you, it has been a Boohoo experience for me…after all I am her momma, you know.

I will say, the fact that we will get to frequent Royer’s Cafe and regular visits to the Pie Haven on our visits to Round Top is a sweet solace to my sorrow. I’ve had some of that Sunday Fried Chicken myself and it made my lonesome heart feel much better. Followed by a piece of buttermilk pie (with icecream I might add) I noticed my sadness turning to joy. Nothing like some good ol’ comfort food, and a table full of family and friends to chase the blues away!
    See you soon,

just reading this again makes me smile ear to ear! i love our story and our crazy little friendship. i am so so proud to call you my friends and think that you are pretty much all things awesome and wonderful. you and elizabeth bring such comport to my weary soul, much needed laughter- at the MOST inappropriate moments (which i happen to love), such encouragement when i need the extra little kick in the a*%. love you both more than my luggage and maybe even more than junk berry pie ala mode. ….and y’all KNOW how i feel about that!
love to forever and always. MUAH!!!!!!
